Hi everyone, and welcome to my very first blog ever! I got the idea of blogging from my girlfriend who is doing a similar health blog "Mama On The Move". We had a son in July this year and they are both a huge inspiration to me. It would be great for you to check out her blog and keep up to date with the goals she has set herself.
In 2012 I want to take ownership of my health and well being by means of something other than the monotonous gym routines that in the past have always failed to inspire me and which I inevitably give up on. I thought that a better goal this year would be to target train, that is, compile a list of 5 running/endurance events to target throughout the year. To the right of the page is the list of events I intend competing in.
Training schedules for the 5 events will be coupled with strength & circuit training. I am currently 86kg and aim to achieve a goal weight of 75kg before moving into a lean muscle bulking stage to increase my weight by 5kg. The end result will be a lean 80kg body without excessive bulk by December 31st 2012.
With these large goals in mind I have sub goals to help make these targets achievable and not become to overwhelming.
1) Commit to a set of nutrition parameters:
* I will be tracking my nutrition through weight watchers during the trimming down phase, therefore I will be sticking to my 42 point daily limit.
* Drink atleast 1.5 litres of water daily
2) Commit to a set of exercise parameters:
* Run 3 times a week specifically targeting my forthcoming events.
* Attend 1 Box-Fit class and 1 swimming session per week.
3) Regular photo & body composition updates:
* Post fortnightly photos of myself with current weight.
* Post 6 weekly body composition analysis.
4) Commit to blogging:
* I will blog at least twice a week
The challenge will officially start on January 2nd at which time I will post my current body dimensions, body composition and photo of myself.
I'm looking forward to a fantastic 2012 full of personal challenges and successes as well as keeping you all up to date of my progress any support given along the way would be greatly appreciated!
